SIX-WEEK ESDP ON "DESIGN & MANUFACTURE OF
SYNTHETIC LEATHER GOODS & JUTE PRODUCTS"
FROM 09-06-2008 TO 21-07-2008

 

A specially designed Six-Week ESDP on Design & Manufacture of Synthetic Leather Goods & Jute Products" was conducted from 09-06-2008 to 21-07-08 at MSME-Development Institute, Balanagar, Hyderabad.  The programme was co-ordinated by Sri K.C.Choudhury, Asst. Director(L&F), MSME-DI, Hyderabad.

The programme was inaugurated on 09-06-2008 in the conference hall of MSME-DI, Hyderabad, wherein Sri Vijay Kumar, Director, Sri D.Chandra Sekhar, Dy.Director(Chem) and Sri K.C.Choudhury, Asst. Director (L&F) were present.

 

The main objective of the programme is to provide training to the Educated Unemployed Youth to develop skills and to motivate the participants to set up self-employment ventures in manufacture of school bags, college bags and jute products viz. shoppers' bag, ladies bags, wall hangings, water bottle bags, puja bags, tiffin bags etc. of different designs & models to earn their livelihood.

25 Nos. of candidates registered for the training programme (Women: SC:03, ST:01, BC:03, OC:08.  Total: 15 and Men: SC:02, BC:04, OC:01, Minority: 02, PH:01.  Total: 10).

The trainees were exposed to intense practice on the machines to acquire the skills.  In addition to the technical aspects, entrepreneurial exposure was given through theoretical lectures in the areas of personality development, entrepreneurship and qualities of successful entrepreneur, Marketing & Development of Marketing Skills, step-by-step approach to start a Small Scale Enterprise, Basic Accounting / Book-Keeping for Small Business Enterprise, Preparation of Project Report etc.  Different Developmental Agencies and professional institutions like Nationalised Bank, DIC, KVIC, JMDC, ATDC etc. delivered lectures about their role in the development of SSIs in AP.

 

The trainees have also been taken for industrial visit to Jute Products and bags manufacturing units viz. M/s.Anu's Jute Handi Crafts, M/s.Ever Green Enterprises, M/s.AVN Enterprises, M/s.Muthu Jute Creations, to have exposure on commercial manufacturing of products.  The trainees were also taken to raw material and other grinderies market at Jute Raw Material Bank to have exposure on the price and procurement of raw materials for manufacture of above products.

The valedictory function was held on 23-07-08 in the Conference Hall of MSME-DI, Hyderabad which was attended by Sri Vijay Kumar, Director, Sri D.Chandra Sekhar, Dy.Director (Chem) and Sri K.C.Choudhury, Asst. Director (L&F).  The trainees had put up an exhibition of products manufacture by them during the training programme which was appreciated by the digniataries present in the valedictory function.   All the dignitaries addressed the participants and Director, MSME-DI, Hyderabad gave away the Certificates to the successful candidates.

When Sri B.Narsimulu, MPO, Jute Manufacturers Development Council, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India visited the ESDP Training Programme, he interacted with the trainees regarding marketing opportunities of June Products and assistance by Government of India through Exhibitions being conducted by JMDC.
