National
Industrial Exhibition-cum-Vendor Development Programme |
|
|
|
National Industrial Exhibition
– cum – Vendor Development Programme: MSME – DI, Hyderabad,
in association with
the State Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt of Andhra
Pradesh, KVIC, Coir Board and NSIC, Hyderabad organized a
four day National Industrial Exhibition – cum- Vendor
Development Programme: APMSME EXPO 2008, at People’s Plaza,
Hyderabad, from 18 – 21 September 2008. The
objective of the programme was to provide a platform for
promoting market linkages between the Micro and Small Scale
Enterprises and Public Sector Undertakings. An Award
Presentation Ceremony was also arranged to present the National
Award for MSEs to the Award winning enterprises from Andhra
Pradesh. |

Shri V. Hanumantha Rao, Hon’ble Member of
Parliament, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee
presided over the programme. Shri Girish Sanghi, Hon’ble
Member of Parliament, also graced the occasion as Guest of
Honour. Shri K. Mohan Rao, State Director, KVIC, Shri
Arumugam, Dy. General Manager, NSIC, Shri VLN Reddy, President
Federation of AP Small Scale Industries Association, and Shri
Suraj Aggarwal, President, Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce
and Industry also addressed the gathering of Entrepreneurs.
The Exhibition housed 300 stalls. Participating PSUs
included Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and South Central
Railway. Fifty KVIC beneficiary Micro units, Members of
Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of AP, Units under the
umbrella of Coir Board, and MSE Associations set up stalls in
the Exhibition. |

Addressing the entrepreneurs
and other delegates present at the programme, Shri V. Hanumantha
Rao, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Chairman, Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Industry mentioned that the Government of
India had initiated many measures and schemes for increasing the
competitiveness of the Indian Micro and Small-scale sector.
Among them was the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust Scheme for MSEs,
which provides collateral free loans upto Rs.50 lakhs. He urged
all the MSEs to avail required loans from this scheme. |

Guest of Honour, Shri Girish
Kumar Sanghi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament
mentioned that there was an
urgent need to increase exports from the country. He observed
that India’s share in International Trade declined continuously
since 1950s. He urged the entrepreneurs to avail the State and
Central incentives and subsidies. He mentioned that the power
tariff rates in the state of Andhra Pradesh were among the
lowest in the country, and that the industrial atmosphere, in
general, was one of the best in the country. |

Director, MSME-DI, Hyderabad
Shri Vijay Kumar apprised the delegates about the progress made
in implementing promotional and training programmes by MSME-DI,
Hyderabad. He explained the objective of AP MSME EXPO 2008, and
thanked all the supporting Institutions for their support. State
Director, K VIC, Shri K. Mohan Rao, Shri Suresh Pundit, Coir
Board, and Shri V. Arumugam, Dy. G M NSIC, Hyderabad briefed
about their activities and invited the Micro and small
entrepreneurs to benefit from them. |

The National Awards presentation Ceremony was
also organized during the inaugural session of the NVDP. |
|
|
|
The Hon’ble Guests went round
the stalls set up by 300 entrepreneurs. The exhibits included
Heavy engineering, precision tools and components, electronic
and electrical items, chemical, readymade garments, handicrafts,
processed fruit products. Separate stalls were allotted for KVIC
sponsored units and Coir Board units. National Awardees also
exhibited their products. A special focus of the Exhibition was
the products displayed by the successful trainees of MSME- DI,
Hyderabad, who made brisk business during the four days. The
Exhibition was open to the general public for four days from18th
to 21st September 2008. Business enquiries worth
Rs.18 crores were generated. |

Shri Dinesh Rai, IAS, Secretary to
Government of India, Ministry of MSME, visited the
Exhibition on the third day and interacted with the stall
owners. |
|
|
|
The four day Exhibition ended
with a Valedictory Programme, chaired by Shri Kalappa,
Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission. He released a
Souvenir prepared for the occasion. |
